You are cordially invited to the launch ceremony of the Vega supercomputer, the most advanced supercomputer in Slovenia and the first EuroHPC supercomputer. Vega is part of a billion-euro project that put Slovenia on the map of the European supercomputer ecosystem. The total investment of EUR 17.2 million was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the EuroHPC Joint Venture.
The Vega supercomputer will enable Slovenian and European scientists to participate in big scale international research projects and contribute to a more rapid development of science and the economy. It is an important investment with great significance for the East Slovenian region, Slovenia as a whole and Europe.
The ceremony will take place on April 20 at 3.30 pm in the premises of the Institute of Information Sciences, Maribor (IZUM), where the Vega supercomputer is located.
