Demistifying Blockchain Technology

We invite you to the professional-educational seminar Demystifying Blockchain Technology. Participants will learn about the possibilities of using blockchain technology and the advantages of its implementation in business, especially for business upgrade and optimization.

Objectives of the seminar:

• Present the basic concepts of the blockchain technology (e.g. distributed data storage, decentralized networks, smart contracts, etc.);
• Introduce supporting frameworks, tools, and techniques;
• Introduce related concepts (e.g. NFT, Web3);
• Present examples and good practices of using blockchain technology as a business supporting tool.

The seminar will be led by Vid Keršič, a young researcher and PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Informatics at UM. He has been working with blockchain technology and artificial intelligence for more than six years. As a member of Blockchain Lab:UM within the Institute of Informatics, he is also involved in international research and development projects, where he has gained extensive practical experience over the years. In 2024, he founded Lutra Labs, a company specialising in the development of digital solutions and consulting, including in the field of blockchain.
